Amid the hype of the MLB All-Star Game and the Women’s World Cup, a pretty amazing sports feat occurred.
San Jose Earthquakes goalie scored a goalie David Bingham scored on a 90-yard free kick.
Bingham, who was making his MLS debut in the exhibition game against England’s West Bromwich Albion, made a save and then started to pass the ball, opting instead to take the kick. The problem was he overshot the player he was aiming for. Fortunately, he also overshot the Albion goalie, who misplayed the ball on a high bounce.
I think you’ll enjoy watching this one a few times. By the way, the Albion goalie is a native of nearby Modesto, Calif.
